A Study on the Optometry System in China

Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose : This study was investigated and analyzed the optometry related system in China.
Also, tried to consider the new changes and development of the Chinese optometry system.
Methods : Information on optometry in China was obtained from China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Optometric and Optical Association (COOA), Baidu, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and the Academic Research Information Service (RISS), respectively.
Results : Optometrist and dispensing optician is divided into yangu?ngyuan (grade 5) and dingpeig?ng (grade 4), and it was found that the scope of work was divided by grade. The contents of the examination of the Optometry Professional Qualification Certificate under the innovated system shall be in accordance with the standards of yangu?ngyuan and dingpeig?ng established by the National Intelligence Agency. The nature of "Optometry Professional Qualification Certificate" has changed from "Qualification Assessment Certificate" to "Skill Level Recognition Certificate". And the core change is that the leading institution has changed from the government to a social organization.
Conclusion : In the optometry system of China, the organizer has changed from the government to a private institution, and the task scope, grades, and test methods are clearly divided in accordance with occupations. China does not have a unified national test for evaluating optometrists and dispensing opticians and has not gone through a standardization process. In order to the great demand of the Chinese eye-wear market and strengthen professionalism in the future, it is necessary to standardize and unify the current evaluation system, and it is judged that it is necessary to strictly manage the education system.
